Shadow of the Tomb Raider concludes Lara Croft's origin trilogy that began with 2013's Tomb Raider. Set mostly in the jungles of Peru, the game follows Lara as she races to stop the Mayan apocalypse she accidentally triggered while battling the paramilitary organization Trinity. This installment focuses more on exploration and puzzle-solving than its predecessors, with larger hub areas and more elaborate tombs to discover.
The game introduces new survival mechanics like mud camouflage and rappelling, while expanding on stealth gameplay with fear-based takedowns. Lara's movement has been enhanced with new traversal options including underwater exploration and wall running.
