ABOUT THE GAME

NieR:Automata is a genre-defying action RPG developed by PlatinumGames and directed by Yoko Taro. Set in the year 11945 AD, the game follows the androids of YoRHa squadron as they battle against machine lifeforms that have invaded Earth, forcing humanity to flee to the Moon. What begins as a simple war story evolves into a deeply philosophical exploration of consciousness, purpose, and what it means to be alive.

The game's combat system masterfully blends hack-and-slash action with shoot 'em up sequences and RPG elements. You'll control battle android 2B, scanner model 9S, and rogue unit A2 across three main story routes (labeled as Endings A, B, and C/D), with additional joke endings and one true finale (Ending E) that provides closure to the narrative. Each playthrough offers new gameplay mechanics and perspectives on the story.

The Game of the Year Edition includes all previously released DLC and bonus content. With its unforgettable soundtrack composed by Keiichi Okabe, striking visual design, and one of the most emotionally impactful stories in gaming, NieR:Automata is an experience that stays with players long after the credits roll. The game's multiple endings (26 in total) encourage replayability while deepening the themes of the narrative.
